Where do you work?

Advance Awards & Gifts – we are a retail store in Bossier City offering awards, engraved gifts and promotional products. It is cliché, but it is really easy to work hard every day when you love what you do – ours is a happy business!  We really enjoy celebrating along with our customers and hearing their stories.

What is a typical day like in the office for you?

Would be hard to pin that down – every day is different and that’s what keeps it interesting. We never know if the call or email coming in is for employee recognition, an award for a competition or “you’re not gonna believe this, but I need you to mount an alligator on a plaque for me and ship it to Saudi Arabia!” Yep – we’ve done that. This week, we engraved a plate for a taxidermy mount where the hunter shot a “double” – a buck and a doe. Can’t wait to hear those details when he picks it up. Never a dull moment.

What do you enjoy most about being a member of AAFSB?

I enjoy being around all the creative people. I never fail to meet someone new and interesting or learn something new at an AAFSB event.

What is something interesting we may not already know about you?

I sound like a local and spent most of my formative years in Georgia and Louisiana, but I’m actually a yankee by birth!  Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. But I got to Louisiana as quickly as I could.
