AAF Shreveport-Bossier is organizing a get-together for this Thursday, April 4th at 5:30 AT CoHabitat in Shreveport. We're reaching out to people in many different professions to keep them informed about the Jindal Tax-Swap bill. In addition to taxing advertising and creative services, the proposed bill would tax many other never-before-taxed services like the performing arts, studio artists, photographers, web designers/developers, IT support, web hosting, and much, much more.
Come learn more about Jindal's proposed tax-swap bill and how it could affect you as a business person as well as a consumer. We'll dedicate time to inform people about the bill, and about how best to let your voice be heard in opposition to it. Let's make it EASY to get in touch with lawmakers who have the power to put a stop to this.
When: Thursday, April 4 @ 5:30 p.m. Where: CoHabitat Shreveport, 610 Commerce Street, Shreveport, LA 71101
Please help us spread the word about this event, as well as let others know about our website www.killthejindaltaxbill.com, and Facebook page. We'll be updating both regularly, so that people can easily keep abreast of the ever-changing details as they develop. |

Governor Bobby Jindal has proposed to get rid of state personal and business income taxes. In exchange, he proposes increasing the state sales tax from 4 percent to 5.88 percent, raising tobacco taxes and charging the higher sales tax rate on a new array of services that aren’t currently taxed, like advertising, photographic, and specialized design-related services! JOIN US in opposition of this taxation that could have a devastating effect on both our economy and our industry as a whole.
The AAFSB is now moving forward with a more organized plan to oppose Jindal’s entire proposed tax swap plan. New taxes for business services would affect many MANY more industries than just Advertising and Creative Services, and we’re dedicated to spreading the word to as many different types of business as possible!
For more information about the proposed tax and to find out what you can do, go to www.killthejindaltaxbill.com. Also, don't forget to sign our petition at Change.org. Let both our Legislature and our Governor know that taxing creative and other services is not only bad for business...it's bad for our state! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
